I joined School of Mentors a few months back. Paid for it myself. Nobody asked me to review it.

I went through the classroom, checked the live call calendar, and spent time in the community feed. Some of what I found was better than expected. Some of it wasn’t.

What is School of Mentors?

School of Mentors is a private Skool community run by James and Jack Dumoulin — the brothers behind School of Hard Knocks, which has 17+ million followers across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.

James has spent years doing sit-down interviews with billionaires and millionaires on camera. The community gives you access to those recordings, plus weekly live calls and a structured business curriculum.

5,700 members. 22 admins. Around 35 people online at any given time.

What’s inside the classroom?

The classroom is where most of the value sits. When you first log in you get a welcome module that shows you how the community works, a Tactical Workshops Library with weekly sessions on sales, marketing, operations, taxes, investing, and AI, and a School of Content track for building a social media brand, run by the School of Hard Knocks team.

Then there are three full seasons of recorded mentorship calls:

• SOM 2024 Season 1: sessions 1–31
• SOM 2025 Season 2: sessions 32–97
• SOM 2026 Season 3: session 98 onwards, still going

That’s 115+ recorded conversations with people like Robert Kiyosaki, Daniel Lubetzky (sold KIND Snacks for $5B), and Bill Gurley (early Uber investor). Most Skool communities give you one expert. This gives you 115.

The 5-phase curriculum

Beyond the recordings, the classroom has a structured learning path with five phases:

Phase 1 is about picking a business model. If you don’t know what type of business to build, this is where you start. Practical decision frameworks, no hand-holding.

Phase 2 covers fundamentals — mindset, health, communication, networking. The stuff most business courses skip and then wonder why their students can’t execute.

The Business Essentials Checkpoint is the boring-but-necessary section: how to legally set up your business, taxes, funding. Most entrepreneurs figure this out the hard way after making expensive mistakes.

Phase 3 is growth — offer creation, sales, marketing, fulfillment. How you actually make money.

Phase 4 is scaling — leadership, hiring, delegation, raising capital. For when things are working.

Phase 5 is generational wealth — investing, advanced tax strategies, estate planning. Most business education stops at Phase 3. This one doesn’t.

You can follow it linearly or jump around. Both work.

How often are the live calls?

More often than most communities.

Looking at April 2026:

• Tuesdays at 4:30am IST — community calls
• Thursdays at 4:30am IST — mentorship sessions with guests
• Fridays at 4:30am IST — new content and announcements
• Saturdays at 7:30am IST — additional community sessions

Four events per week. Most Skool communities do one per month.

The catch: those times are built for a US audience. If you’re in India or Southeast Asia, 4:30am is not realistic for most people. Worth knowing before you join.

The community

The feed is active without being noisy. Members post questions, share wins, ask for feedback. The gamification system — points, levels, leaderboards — keeps people coming back.

The top members on the 30-day leaderboard had 1,000+ points each. That’s consistent daily engagement, not one-time posting.

22 admins for 5,700 members means roughly one admin per 259 members. Questions get answered. The community doesn’t feel abandoned.

What they don’t tell you upfront

The pricing has moved around a lot. $99/month at launch. $49/month for a stretch. $25/month now. If you’re a new member that’s great news. If you paid $99 and now see the same access for $25, that’s going to sting. The community seems to be running flash sales to hit a 7,000-member target.

Billionaire Day events — special live sessions with multiple guests — have no recordings. If your timezone doesn’t work or you’re busy that day, that content is gone. That’s a real limitation for anyone outside North America.

The community feed is also quieter than you’d expect given the School of Hard Knocks has 17M+ followers. Most of those followers never joined the paid community. Engagement is solid but it’s not a buzzing daily conversation.

Who should actually join?

School of Mentors makes sense if you’re an early-stage entrepreneur who hasn’t settled on a business model yet, or someone who learns better from real conversations than courses. The recording library alone is worth the monthly fee if you’re going to actually watch them.
