  • 90-day first-client refund

Maker School costs $184/mo, so testing its 90-day client guarantee costs $552. I priced year one. The refund fine print isn't public.

Maker School is Nick Saraev’s paid AI automation community on Skool. It costs $184 a month, and a public listing promises your first paying client within 90 days or a full refund. So the real test costs $552: three monthly payments, plus whatever you spend on tools. This review prices that test and the year after it, and lists what the listing leaves out.

We have not joined Maker School. Everything below comes from the public Skool page and its plan data (checked October 17, 2026), 81 Trustpilot reviews, two YouTube reviews by people outside Nick’s team, Nick’s own blog, and the live pricing pages of the tools you’ll need.

My Verdict in 30 Seconds

Maker School is a good buy for someone who will send cold outreach every week for three months and wants a daily plan to follow. If that isn’t you, $184 a month is a lot to pay for motivation.

Join if you’ve already tinkered with n8n or Make, you can put 10+ hours a week into outreach, and you’ll check the guarantee terms in writing before your first payment.

Skip if you want to learn automation as a hobby, you need passive income, or your budget can’t cover $552 plus about $47 a month in outreach software.

The catch. The guarantee is one sentence on the public page. What counts as a “paying client”, what proof you need and whether annual payers qualify are not published.

What Does Maker School Cost in 2026?

Maker School costs $184 a month on Skool as of October 17, 2026. The listing warns “Price increasing to $194/mo soon!” Skool’s plan data for the group also carries an annual price of $1,546, about $128.83 a month. The public page only shows the monthly button, so confirm the annual option at checkout.

Over a year, the totals look like this:

MonthsMonthly at $184Monthly at $194Annual plan
3 (guarantee window)$552$582$1,546 up front
6$1,104$1,164$1,546
9$1,656$1,746$1,546
12$2,208$2,328$1,546

Line chart of Maker School costs over 12 months: monthly at $184 reaches $2,208, monthly at $194 reaches $2,328, and the annual plan stays at $1,546

The annual plan is cheaper once you stay past month 8. It saves $662 against 12 payments at $184, or $782 against 12 at $194. But it puts $1,546 at risk on day one. If you’re still unsure Maker School is for you, pay monthly for the first 90 days. You’ll pay $552 instead of $1,546 for the same test.

What Does the 90-Day Guarantee Actually Promise?

The Maker School guarantee promises a full refund if you don’t land your first paying AI client within 90 days. That’s the whole public statement. The Skool description reads “Get your first client for an AI automation business in 90 days or your money back.” The listing repeats it as “land AI client #1 in 90d or get a full refund.”

Few paid Skool communities offer anything like this, and it’s the main reason to choose Maker School over a cheaper group. It also leaves four questions open that the public page never answers:

  • What counts as a client? One paid project, a retainer, a minimum dollar amount? The page doesn’t say.
  • What do you have to prove? Most outcome guarantees ask you to show you did the work, such as daily tasks completed or outreach sent. None of that is written publicly.
  • What does “full refund” cover? Your $552 in membership fees, presumably. Your software bills are a separate cost you won’t get back.
  • Do annual payers qualify? The guarantee is written around a 90-day window. Whether a $1,546 annual payment is refunded in full is not stated.

Members who’ve joined can see the group’s rules. Skool shows 3 rules for the community, and they’re hidden until you’re in. Ask for the guarantee terms in writing before you pay, and screenshot the answer.

One reviewer’s account helps set expectations. Arlon den Teuling wrote on Trustpilot (January 13, 2026) that the day-by-day plan is “slightly time-optimistic”, and that you should be ready to work hard and stay out of your comfort zone. Read the 90 days as a deadline for effort, and don’t count on results arriving on schedule.

What Is the Real Cost of the First 90 Days?

The real cost of testing Maker School is $552 in membership plus your tool stack. The membership is the part the guarantee can refund. Tools are not. A lean stack for a beginner runs about $47 to $67 a month, based on the live pricing pages on October 17, 2026.

ItemPrice (Oct 17, 2026)90-day cost
Maker School membership$184/month$552
Instantly Growth (cold email)$47/month$141
Make Free plan (1,000 credits)$0$0
n8n Starter (optional)$20/month, billed annually$240 paid up front
Lean total (Make Free)$693
With n8n Starter$933

Two notes on this table. First, Maker School says members get “$21K in IMMEDIATE discounts to AI automation platforms”, which may cut these numbers. The page doesn’t name the tools or the discount sizes, so we left them out. Second, n8n’s Starter price is an annual plan, so picking it means paying $240 for the year even if you quit at day 90.

Hunter Reviews, a YouTube channel that reviews online business models, made the same point in July 2026. The membership is the smallest cost of the business. You also pay for automation hosting, a cold email platform and AI credits, and you keep paying while you do client work.

What Do You Get Inside for $184 a Month?

Maker School is a Skool community built around a daily roadmap to your first AI client. Its public listing claims 218 videos and guides, more than 50 templates and scripts, and full courses on Claude Code, n8n and more. Skool’s page data showed 14 courses on October 17, 2026.

Maker School's public Skool page showing $184 a month, 2.5k members, 2 admins and the Join button

The listing breaks the offer into a core and bonuses:

  • Core: the day-by-day roadmap, “Live coaching: I respond to almost every post each day”, the $21K tool discounts, end-to-end courses, templates, three lead generation methods, and Nick’s own proposals and scripts from agencies he says reached “$160K/m across two agencies”.
  • Bonuses: daily Q&A with custom videos from Nick, weekly calls, a jobs board where members hire each other, and a network of “over 2K AI consultants”.

Hunter Reviews names the three lead generation methods as cold email, Upwork and direct outreach with personal Loom videos. He also mentions a 25-session sales track run by Connor Kaplan. One example from that video shows the effort involved: a member sent 15 personal Loom videos, got 3 replies and closed a $1,900 deal.

Maker School's public offer list: 218 videos and guides, live coaching, $21K in discounts, templates, weekly calls and the price increase warning

Connor Kaplan’s own review (June 2025) describes the parts members use most. He mentions a wins channel, a bugs and automation QA channel where members post Looms of broken workflows, a projects board for paid work, n8n and Make blueprints in the classroom, and an opt-in member map for meeting people in person. Connor runs sales trainings inside the community and links to it with a referral code, so he isn’t neutral. His one complaint is about Skool rather than Maker School: old threads are hard to find again because notifications only show new activity.

How Much of Nick Saraev Do You Actually Get?

Nick Saraev is the founder and main draw, and his public record checks out. He built the agencies 1SecondCopy and LeftClick, publishes free automation tutorials on his YouTube channel, and writes openly about his business on his blog. How much time he personally spends in Maker School is less clear.

On November 19, 2025, Nick published a post called “Next few months” that planned his own step back. In it he wrote that he would:

  • bring on “the most talented and capable community contributors” and pay them to answer member questions, to cut his daily time;
  • have other people record the Loom reviews, recording them himself only now and then;
  • remove the standard month-6 one-to-one calls;
  • give every member of his older group, Make Money With Make, free lifetime access to Maker School.

He also wrote that he expected revenue to dip “30-50%” as he lost the “get rich quick” crowd, and that Maker School would grow into a community about the “future of work”, with new lessons on managing AI agents.

The sales page on October 17, 2026 still says “I respond to almost every post each day” and promises daily Q&A videos from Nick. Recent members back that up. Skool reviews from August 2026 say “Nick is actually present, replying to comments” and that he’s “in the community answering people daily”. Nick may well still post daily while helpers take most of the technical questions. We can’t tell from outside. Skool lists 2 admins for 2,582 members, so ask who will answer your bug posts before you pay for founder access.

What Do Members Say?

Maker School’s public ratings are high: 5.0 from 112 reviews on Skool and 4.9 from 81 on Trustpilot, where 100% of reviews were 5-star on October 17, 2026. Members praise Nick’s presence, the daily structure and the practical templates. The ratings say less about how many members land a client.

Gokce Demirtas (Skool, August 2026, member for 3 months) wrote that the daily tasks “revived my sleepy work schedule more than any tool ever did.” That’s the most common theme: people who kept stalling on their own found the daily plan got them moving.

The biggest number comes from a long-term member. Mia Wilkins (Skool, August 2026, member for 19 months) wrote that she joined in March 2025 earning £1k a month and expected £7k in August 2026. Nineteen months is a long way past the 90-day window, which is worth remembering when you read the guarantee.

Trustpilot’s own review summary adds the less flattering part: some reviewers doubted the cost before joining, and getting started took real effort.

Read these ratings with two filters. Every Skool review we read carried a label such as “Still a paying member after 5 months”, so the loudest voices are people who stayed. We found no reviews from members who left or asked for a refund. Trustpilot also flags that this company “hasn’t invited customers recently, so reviews may not be representative.” Neither source tells you what share of members land a first client inside 90 days. That number would be the most useful fact for judging the guarantee, and Maker School doesn’t publish it.

Maker School vs Cheaper and Pricier Skool Communities

Maker School sits in the middle on price. On October 17, 2026, its $184 a month compared with $129 for AI Automation Society Plus and $319 for AI SEO Rainmakers. Each community sells a different outcome, so compare what you’re buying along with the price.

Bar chart of monthly prices: AI Automation Society Plus $129, Maker School $184 today and $194 announced, AI SEO Rainmakers $319

CommunityPrice (Oct 17, 2026)MembersWhat you’re buying
AI Automation Society Plus$129/month3,512n8n and agent building skills, weekly Q&As
Maker School$184/month or $1,546/year2,582A roadmap to first client, plus a refund guarantee
AI SEO Rainmakers$319/month404AI search and SEO plays for agencies and site owners

Pick Maker School if a client-acquisition plan and a refund promise matter more to you than the lowest price. Pick AI Automation Society Plus if you mainly want to build automations and get help with them. If your business runs on search traffic and you want ChatGPT and Google to recommend you, AI SEO Rainmakers is the closer fit, at a higher price. For more options, see our list of Skool communities reviewed, including AI Automations by Jack, AI Builders, Claude Club and the free AI Automation Agency Hub.

The Downsides Nobody Puts on the Sales Page

  • The guarantee has no public fine print. You’re trusting terms you can only read after you join.
  • The price is rising. $184 today, $194 “soon”. Skool’s pricing screen for community owners says existing customers stay on the price they joined at, but Maker School’s listing doesn’t promise a lock.
  • Tools cost extra. Expect $47 to $67 a month on top, and more once you have clients.
  • Founder time is shrinking by design. Nick’s own plan moves daily answers to paid contributors.
  • The model is service work. Hunter Reviews points out that client automations need fixing when APIs change, and that thousands of other Maker School members are prospecting the same kinds of businesses.

Don’t Join If

  • You want income without client calls. AI automation agencies sell a service and keep delivering it.
  • You can’t afford to lose $693 if the guarantee terms turn out narrower than you hoped.
  • You plan to watch the videos and never send outreach. The guarantee almost certainly requires effort, and the roadmap assumes it.
  • You only want n8n templates. Skool has cheaper template communities, and Nick’s YouTube is free.

What to Remember Before You Pay

  • Testing Maker School’s guarantee costs $552 in fees and about $693 with a lean tool stack.
  • Pay monthly for the first 90 days. Switch to the $1,546 annual plan only after you’re sure you’ll stay past month 8.
  • Get the guarantee terms in writing before your first payment.
  • Nick planned in November 2025 to hand most daily answers to helpers. Ask how support works now.
  • Ratings are 5.0 on Skool and 4.9 on Trustpilot, but neither shows how many members actually land a client.

Maker School FAQ

Maker School review: is it worth $184 a month?

Maker School is worth $184 a month if you’ll follow its daily roadmap and do cold outreach for 90 days. It’s the rare Skool community with a written first-client guarantee, and it had 2,582 members and 112 five-star-average reviews on October 17, 2026. Budget about $693 for the first 90 days including tools.

Can I cancel Maker School and get my money back?

You can cancel your Skool membership at any time, and billing stops at the end of the period. A refund depends on the 90-day first-client guarantee, whose conditions are not published on the public page. Ask Maker School for the terms in writing before you join.

How long does it take to land a first client with Maker School?

The roadmap targets your first paying client within 90 days. A Trustpilot reviewer called the day-by-day plan “slightly time-optimistic”, and one example shared by Hunter Reviews took 15 personal Loom videos to win a single $1,900 deal. Expect results to depend on your outreach volume.

Is there an annual plan for Maker School?

Yes. Skool’s plan data for Maker School lists an annual price of $1,546, which works out to about $128.83 a month. That saves $662 compared with 12 monthly payments at $184. The public page only shows the monthly price, so confirm the annual option at checkout.

What tools do I need on top of Maker School?

You need an automation platform and a cold email tool. On October 17, 2026, Make had a free plan with 1,000 credits a month, n8n Starter cost $20 a month billed annually, and Instantly’s Growth plan cost $47 a month. Maker School says members get platform discounts, but it doesn’t list them publicly.

Who runs Maker School?

Nick Saraev runs Maker School. He founded the agencies 1SecondCopy and LeftClick and publishes automation tutorials on YouTube. Skool listed 2 admins for the community on October 17, 2026, and Nick wrote in November 2025 that paid contributors would take over many daily member questions.

Reader questions

What people actually ask us

Is Maker School by Nick Saraev worth the time or money?

Asked on r/automation

Worth it if you'll do the outreach. The course can't send cold emails for you, and that's where most of the 90 days goes. If you just want to learn n8n, his free YouTube videos cover a lot of that for $0.

Anyone who joined Nick Saraev's Maker School?

Asked on r/automation

Plenty have. Skool showed 112 reviews averaging 5.0 on October 17, 2026, and Trustpilot had 81 at 4.9. Every review we read was from someone who stayed, so you won't hear much from people who quit. Ask a current member how long it took them to land client one.

Is Nick Saraev worth it?

Asked on r/automation

His track record is public: two agencies, a big YouTube channel and a blog where he writes about his own revenue. What is less clear is how much of Nick you get. He wrote in November 2025 that he'd hand most daily answers to paid helpers. Ask about that before you pay for founder access.

Nick Saraev new n8n course, any thoughts?

Asked on r/n8n

The n8n material sits inside Maker School now, next to Claude Code and Codex lessons, so you can't buy it on its own. If n8n is all you want, a cheaper template community like AI Automations by Jack might fit better.
