IDALL AI Skool Review (Darren Maen): I Paid $9 to See Inside

Purchased & Tested
  • $9/month or $79/year

  • AI tools cost extra

My IDALL AI Skool review: I paid $9 to join Darren Maen's film school. The classroom is deep, but AI tools cost extra and the $9 deadline keeps moving.

IDALL AI is a $9 a month Skool community where director Darren Maen teaches cinematic AI filmmaking: short films, trailers, music videos and brand ads. On October 31, 2026 it had 3,529 members and a 4.9 rating from 108 Skool reviews. I paid the $9 myself that day and opened all 18 classroom courses. My verdict is that the lessons are worth $9 to anyone who wants to direct AI video instead of rolling prompts. There are two catches: the AI tools you need cost extra, and the “price goes up soon” message changes depending on which page you read.

My Skool payment history showing $9 for IDALL AI membership on October 31, 2026

My IDALL AI receipt from Skool’s payment history: $9 on October 31, 2026.

IDALL AI Skool Review: The Short Version

IDALL AI is the cheapest structured AI filmmaking course I have seen on Skool. For $9 a month you get a six-step path from your first cinematic frame to a finished short film, a 74-page workflow hub, and weekly challenges with cash prizes. The lessons teach film language (shot sizes, light, camera movement, sequencing), and that is what separates a directed AI scene from a lucky generation.

What I liked: the six-step classroom. It starts with 2 to 4 minute videos in Step 1 and ends in Step 6 with a final film project, broken into planning, production and assembly lessons.

What I didn’t: the pressure marketing. The Skool page says “only 52 spots left at $9”, idall.ai says the price rises at 4,000 members, and a lesson inside says $19 at 5,000 members.

Bottom line: join for a month if you want to make AI films or ads and already pay for (or will pay for) a video generator. Skip it if you want a done-for-you income system. The money features are still being built.

What I Checked Before Writing

This IDALL AI Skool review comes from my own $9 monthly membership, started on October 31, 2026. On that day I opened all 18 courses in the classroom, the community feed, the calendar and the Skool about page, and took the screenshots on this page. Other members’ names and faces are blurred.

This is a day-one inside tour. I have not finished a film in IDALL, so I won’t tell you what the Step 6 project feels like to complete. For results, I quote members by name from their Skool reviews. Prices and claims from the sales pages are dated. Our full process is on the review methodology page.

What Is IDALL AI on Skool?

IDALL AI is a paid Skool community and online film school for people who want to make films and ads with AI video tools. Darren Maen owns it, and the Skool group opened on January 17, 2026. Its pitch, from idall.ai, is “make your first AI film in 14 days”, starting from zero video experience.

The community name on Skool is “IDALL AI” and the URL is skool.com/idall-lite-1529. Inside, the team calls it “IDALL Lite”. The product is three things in one place:

  • A classroom of 18 courses, from a beginner path to tool-specific workflows
  • A feed with categories for lessons, challenges, wins, client requests and prompts
  • Weekly challenges judged by Darren and voted on by members, with cash or free months as prizes

It is built on Skool, so the app, the leaderboard and the level system work like every other Skool group.

Who Is Darren Maen?

Darren Maen is a creative director and the founder of Efir Media, a digital studio. His Skool bio lists 15+ years in digital and work for Huda Beauty, Skechers and Sephora. On idall.ai he names two studios: Efir VFX for AI and VFX brand production, and Efir Media for video production.

He is also an active creator. His Instagram passes 120,000 followers, and LinkedIn lists him as co-founder of Idall.ai. Inside the community he writes the pinned threads and picks the 1st-place winner of each cash challenge. The group shows 3 admins for 3,529 members.

What’s Inside the IDALL AI Skool Classroom?

The IDALL AI classroom holds 18 courses and 210 lesson pages, and 81 of those pages carry a video. The backbone is a six-step path, Steps 1 to 6, with 77 lesson pages between them. Everything else is bonus material, tool workflows, challenges or locked levels.

Lesson counts are Skool’s lesson pages, read inside the classroom on October 31, 2026. Some pages are section headers or recaps, so the true video count is 81.

How long are the lessons?

IDALL AI lessons are short. Step 1’s videos run 2 to 4 minutes each, and the longest core lesson I found, Step 3’s Cinematic Spatial Control, runs 13 minutes. Steps 3 to 6 mostly sit between 5 and 9 minutes. That suits the “watch, make one shot, post it” loop the community runs on.

IDALL AI Step 2 lesson page for Nano Banana cinematic image control Step 2, Module 2: Cinematic Control of Image. The lesson text opens with “generation itself is not the achievement, control is.”

What does the Resources & Workflows hub add?

The hub is the most useful part for anyone past the basics. It has 74 pages: 16 weekly workflow drops (character sheets, shot chaining, “One Photo, One Ad”, camera and lens cheat sheet), then skill pages for 13 image tools, 15 video tools, 4 audio tools and 23 craft topics such as color grading, continuity, UGC ads and troubleshooting. The card says a new drop lands every Friday.

IDALL AI Resources and Workflows hub with weekly drops list The Resources & Workflows hub: weekly drops #001 to #016 sit above the tool skill pages.

How Much Does IDALL AI Really Cost?

IDALL AI costs $9 a month or $79 a year. The yearly plan works out to $6.58 a month, a 27% saving (the Skool about page rounds it to “save 30%”). The membership is only the entry fee. The AI tools the lessons use are separate subscriptions, and one course inside is a paid add-on.

Cost itemPriceRequired?
IDALL AI monthly$9/monthYes (or yearly)
IDALL AI yearly$79/yearAlternative to monthly
The Final Pass course$279 one-timeNo, optional add-on
AI video generator (Seedance, Kling, Higgsfield and others)Varies by toolYes, per idall.ai FAQ
AI image tool (Midjourney, Nano Banana and others)Varies by toolYes for Step 2

The idall.ai FAQ says it plainly: “AI video tools like Seedance or Kling have their own subscriptions.” That makes the real monthly cost $9 plus whatever generator credits you burn. Credit-based tools are expensive per finished second of footage, so a beginner who iterates a lot will spend more on credits than on IDALL. If you are choosing a generator, our Higgsfield AI review covers one of the tools the hub teaches.

Will the $9 price go up?

Probably, but not on any single date you can trust. On October 31, 2026, three IDALL pages gave three different triggers:

  • The Skool about page: “Only 52 spots left at $9/month”.
  • The idall.ai pricing block: the price goes up at 4,000 members, with a counter reading 3,400 / 4,000.
  • The “Why it’s $9” lesson inside: $9 rises to $19 at 5,000 members, then $29, $39 and “eventually $99/month”.

All three agree on one thing: members who join at $9 keep $9. That lesson also says the yearly $79 rate is locked for life. Treat the countdowns as marketing and decide on the content.

IDALL AI lesson explaining why the price is $9 and the planned price ladder Inside the Start Here course: the “Why it’s $9” lesson lists the $9 to $19 to $29 to $39 to $99 ladder.

What is The Final Pass?

The Final Pass is a 14-lesson film course locked behind a $279 one-time payment. Its card in the classroom reads “Lifetime IDALL Access”. Its lessons (directorial vision, moodboards, storyboarding, prompt engineering, animation in Seedance, post-production) mirror the free 8-week film build, which drips the same topics weekly. If you are happy to go at the group’s pace, you don’t need it.

Are the IDALL Cash Challenges Real?

IDALL AI runs a weekly Cinematic Challenge with posted rules and named winners. Every Monday a 6-day challenge starts with one image task per day. On Sunday Darren picks his top 10, members vote with likes for 24 hours, and the next Monday the winners are announced.

Prizes alternate by week, per the Cash Edition lesson:

  • Cash weeks: $150 for 1st place (Darren’s pick), $100 and $50 for 2nd and 3rd (community vote). That’s $300 a week.
  • PRO weeks: free months of access instead of cash (3, 2 and 1 months).
  • Leaderboard rewards: the weekly top 3 on the Kings leaderboard get $50, $25 and $15.

Two details matter before you enter. Prizes are paid in USDT only (TRC-20 or ERC-20), and winners have 7 days to send a wallet address or lose the prize. The October 2026 calendar also listed a $1,000 challenge on October 12.

IDALL AI Cinematic Challenge Cash Edition rules and USDT prize table The Cash Edition rules: six daily tasks, Darren’s top 10, then 24 hours of community voting.

What Wins and Results Do IDALL Members Post?

IDALL AI’s Wins category is almost all challenge results. Of the 60 Wins posts on the first two feed pages (dated May 19 to October 30, 2026), 59 announce challenge winners, voting rounds or weekly leaderboard prizes. The one exception is a film festival finalist. None of the 60 is a member posting client income. If you want proof that members earn from AI film, the evidence sits in a handful of client posts covered in the next section, not in Wins.

The $1,000 Mega Cinematic Challenge

The first Mega Cinematic Challenge closed with results posted on October 24, 2026. Darren’s winners post lists $500 for the jury pick, $200 and $100 for the two community-vote places, and $50 awards for best cinematography, worldbuilding and character. The thread drew 100 comments.

Weekly challenge payouts

The regular weekly challenge has posted named winners since May 2026. The Week 7 results on June 30 show the standard split: $150 jury pick, $100 and $50 by community vote. The Kings leaderboard results run separately, 25 rounds by October 30. One member has topped Kings four weeks in a row, so the leaderboard cash tends to go to the same few very active posters.

A festival finalist

On October 11, 2026, Darren announced that a member and regular challenge entrant was a finalist in the Higgsfield Global Film Festival with a film called DOMINIO. The Skool about page also claims 3 IDALL members reached the top 50 of Higgsfield’s AI Film Awards, competing for $100,000. I could confirm the one finalist post inside the group, not the top-50 count.

Member spotlights and showreels

The team started an “IDALL Spotlight” video series on October 24, 2026 to profile members’ progress. In Show Your Work, the most-liked post I found is a member’s first AI showreel from May 19, 2026, with 220 likes and 113 comments. Both show the feedback loop works. Neither tells you what anyone earns.

How Do the IDALL Levels and Locks Work?

IDALL AI uses Skool’s level system to gate three courses. Level 2, The Creator, was open to me on day one. Level 3, The Director, showed “Unlock in 62 days” and Level 4, The Cinematographer, showed “Unlock in 92 days”. Level 4 holds a single page reading “Coming Soon”.

The Start Here course says likes earn XP and XP unlocks restricted modules. In practice, a new member waits about two to three months for the top levels whatever they post. Skool’s level data shows 74% of members still at Level 1, so most people never see past Level 2.

IDALL AI classroom bonus courses and time-locked Level 3 and Level 4 cards Bonus courses, then Level 2 open, Level 3 locked for 62 days and Level 4 for 92 days (new member view).

What Happens in the IDALL Community Feed?

The IDALL AI feed is busy. The pinned Start Here thread has a poll with 2,403 votes and about 5,500 comments, and Darren’s second pinned thread asks “What are you making in the next 30 days?”. Feed categories include Lessons, Community Challenge, Wins, Show Your Work, Support Needed, Client Requests and Prompts.

The Client Requests category is the one to watch if you want paid work. It holds posts from agencies looking for AI creators, for example a September 2026 post looking for a social media AI designer. In a Step 1 lesson, the team says one client came to the group paying creators “$4-5k a month” for part-time work. I can’t verify that figure, so read it as a claim.

What paid work has come through the group?

IDALL AI has a small, real track record of client work, and the posts are dated:

  • March 23, 2026: Darren posted that the team recommended a member to a client and the member landed a reels project worth about $1K. In the comments he adds that the brief was first shared in IDALL’s separate “Pro community”, not this $9 group.
  • March 26 and 28, 2026: Darren announced that agencies would join with their own hiring threads, and the first agency joined two days later.
  • May 8, 2026: a member posted a client brief paying $500 to $1,000 for a 120-second Seedance sequence. One member replied that she sent her portfolio and the client never responded.
  • May 31, 2026: the team launched a jobs pipeline: a scraper tracks LinkedIn, Upwork and AI job boards, Claude filters the results, and a curated list goes up every 1 to 2 days.

That is useful, but it is a handful of leads for 3,529 members. Join to learn the craft, and treat client work as a bonus.

Are there live calls?

No live coaching calls appeared on the October 2026 calendar. It showed weekly Cinematic Challenge starts and “New Lesson Release” slots, nothing else. Feedback happens in the comments on your posts. If you learn best from live Q&A, look elsewhere.

What Do IDALL AI Members Say?

IDALL AI holds a 4.9 average from 108 Skool reviews (October 31, 2026). The reviews on the about page praise two things: beginner progress and the challenges.

  • Walter Lumberio (August 2026) started “with zero knowledge on AI” and says he can now create his own short films and understands camera movement, composition and story.
  • Scorpio Parker (October 2026) had bought courses that were only lectures and was “surprised to see how hands-on IDALL AI was”, joining the weekly challenges after the first week.
  • Nadiia Cherniavska (August 2026) likes the mix of ready-made workflows and general principles, which helps beginners “overcome the fear of a blank page”. She also appears as a $15 leaderboard winner in a June 2026 results post.

Skoolmakers, a Skool directory that reviews from outside the paywall, rates it 4.3 of 5. Its cons match mine: income claims are marketing, techniques date fast, and the refund window is 7 days.

The Downsides IDALL Doesn’t Put on Its Sales Page

These are the problems I found on day one. None of them is a dealbreaker at $9, but you should know them first.

  1. The tools cost more than the course. Every workflow assumes a paid generator. $9 is the cheap part.
  2. The money features are a roadmap. The “How to earn” lesson lists a portfolio page, an AI producer and job matching for October 16, a “Hire” button for October 20, a dashboard for October 27, and a brand directory and paid briefs for November. Some of it lives on idall.ai, not inside Skool, so I couldn’t confirm it from the classroom.
  3. The job board numbers are noisy. idall.ai showed “10,788 paid jobs open now”, and one of the three sample listings was a Photonic Integrated Circuit Designer internship. The feed pulls general job listings, so most of them have nothing to do with AI film.
  4. Old numbers sit next to new ones. The $9 lesson still says “~2,500 creators” while the group shows 3,529. Small, but it tells you the pages aren’t kept in sync.
  5. Payments in USDT only. Challenge winners need a crypto wallet. Some readers can’t or won’t set one up.
  6. No live calls. Feedback is asynchronous, in comments.

Who Should Join IDALL AI?

IDALL AI suits beginners and hobbyists who want to make AI films or ads and will practise weekly. It suits less well people who want income first or live coaching.

Join if you:

  • want a step-by-step path from first frame to a finished short film
  • already pay for a generator such as Seedance, Kling or Higgsfield, or plan to
  • like deadlines and feedback, which the weekly challenges give you

Skip it if you:

  • want a guaranteed way to earn from AI video
  • learn best on live calls
  • already direct video professionally (the Step 1 to 3 material will be basic for you)

Is the IDALL AI Skool Community Worth $9 a Month?

Yes, if you will use it. Steps 1 and 2 teach framing, light and character consistency in short videos, and the weekly challenge gives you a reason to finish shots. The risk is one month, and idall.ai lists a 7-day refund.

It is not worth it as an income plan. The earning tools are new or still on the roadmap, and the budget for AI credits will outrun the membership fee. Join for the craft, keep the yearly plan in mind if you stay past month two, and ignore the countdowns.

Key Takeaways

  • IDALL AI costs $9 a month or $79 a year. Members who join at $9 keep that rate.
  • The classroom holds 18 courses and 210 lesson pages. The core six steps hold 77.
  • Budget for AI generator subscriptions on top. The idall.ai FAQ says so itself.
  • The Final Pass is a $279 add-on. The free 8-week film build covers the same topics, slower.
  • Weekly challenges pay up to $150 in USDT and give you a feedback loop.
  • The Wins feed is challenge results, not income reports. Client work through the group is real but rare (one ~$1K reels project on record).
  • Ignore the countdowns: three pages give three different price-rise triggers.

Reader questions

What people actually ask us

Is IDALL AI legit or just another hype course?

Asked on Google People Also Ask

It's a real Skool community with a real classroom. We paid $9 and opened every course: 210 lesson pages, short videos, weekly challenges with posted rules. The hype lives in the sales copy (the job board, the countdowns), not in the lessons.

Do I need to pay for Seedance or Kling on top of the $9?

Asked on idall.ai FAQ

Yes. IDALL's own FAQ says the video tools have their own subscriptions. Budget for at least one paid generator before you join, or you'll watch lessons you can't practise.

Can a total beginner with no video experience keep up?

Asked on Skool member review (Walter Lumberio, August 2026)

Most reviews say yes. Walter Lumberio wrote that he started with zero AI knowledge and now makes his own short films. Step 1's videos run 2 to 4 minutes each, so the start is gentle.

Is the cash challenge actually paid out?

Asked on IDALL AI community feed (Kings leaderboard results post, June 2026)

Darren posts named winners with amounts each week, and winners are told to message an admin for payment. We can't see the transfers. Prizes are paid in USDT only, so you need a crypto wallet to collect.

The Breakdown

Full pros & cons

What we liked
  • $9 a month opens 18 courses and 210 lesson pages, including a six-step path from first frame to finished short film
  • Darren Maen runs AI ad work for brands, and the lessons teach directing (shots, light, camera) rather than random prompting

  • Members rate it 4.9 from 108 Skool reviews, and a 7-day refund is listed on idall.ai
What could be better
  • The AI tools (Seedance, Kling, Midjourney and the rest) are separate subscriptions you pay for yourself
  • Three pages give three different price-rise triggers: 52 spots left, 4,000 members and 5,000 members
  • The Final Pass film course is locked behind a $279 one-time payment
  • Level 3 and Level 4 unlock on a timer (62 and 92 days for a new member), and Level 4 says Coming Soon
