ClickFunnels vs Systeme.io 2026: $17 Wins Until Ads Do
Systeme.io costs $17/month, ClickFunnels $97. I run funnels on ClickFunnels and tested Systeme.io's free plan. Here's which one wins for your stage.
Systeme.io is the right first funnel builder if your offer is unproven and your budget is under $20 a month. ClickFunnels is the right builder once you send paid traffic to an offer that already converts. I run my own funnels on ClickFunnels, and I tested Systeme.io’s free and Startup plans for my Systeme.io review, so this page answers a stage question: which tool fits where you are right now. My full ClickFunnels review covers that platform on its own. Here I put the two head to head across eight differences, one pricing table, and the migration path in both directions.
The price gap is the whole argument. Systeme.io Startup costs $17 a month (Systeme.io, verified September 2026). ClickFunnels Launch costs $97 a month (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026). That is $80 a month, or $960 a year on monthly billing. The rest of this page explains what the $80 buys and when it stops being worth it.
TL;DR: Systeme.io wins four of eight differences (price, email, affiliate management, simplicity) and ClickFunnels wins the other four (checkout, templates, training, workflow depth). Start on Systeme.io’s free plan if you have no proven offer. Move to ClickFunnels Launch at $97/month the month you start buying traffic (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026).
Quick Decision: Systeme.io Before Revenue, ClickFunnels After
Pick Systeme.io if
- You have not sold the offer yet and want to test it for $0 or $17 a month
- You send a lot of email and refuse to pay per send
- You want to recruit affiliates from day one without a $297 plan
- You are one person, you want a builder you can learn in an afternoon, and design polish is not the deciding factor
Pick ClickFunnels if
- You already run paid ads to a validated offer and every checkout percentage point matters
- You need a 2-step order form, order bumps, and one-click upsells without a workaround
- You want the largest funnel template library and the training ecosystem that comes with it
- You plan to build multi-branch automations and will be on Scale ($197) or higher
Bottom line: Systeme.io is the cheaper tool and ClickFunnels is the higher-converting one. Pay the $80 gap only once you have traffic to convert.
Start the 14-day ClickFunnels trial if you are already in the second group. No card is required, and the first payment carries a 30-day money-back guarantee (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026).
Systeme.io Sells Cheap Completeness, ClickFunnels Sells Conversion
Systeme.io was founded by Aurelien Amacker in France in 2018. The company is bootstrapped and profitable, and its product strategy shows it: bundle funnels, email, courses, and affiliate management into one plan and price it below everyone. The free plan gives you 3 funnels, 2,000 contacts, 1 course, 1 custom domain, and unlimited emails with no card on file (Systeme.io, verified September 2026).
ClickFunnels was built by Russell Brunson to turn paid traffic into buyers. Version 2.0 added email, courses, memberships, community, a CRM, a blog, ecommerce, and workflow automation, but the checkout page is still the product. Every plan includes unlimited funnels, unlimited pages, unlimited visitors, and zero transaction fees (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026). ClickFunnels Classic is no longer sold to new users, so everything below refers to 2.0.
Key Difference #1: Systeme.io Wins on Price by $80 a Month
Systeme.io Startup is $17 a month, or $170 a year on annual billing (Systeme.io, verified September 2026). ClickFunnels Launch is $97 a month, or $81 a month ($972 a year) on annual billing (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026). On annual plans the gap is $802 a year. On monthly plans it is $960.
Systeme.io cut the Startup price from $27 to $17 in late 2025, a 37% reduction. The top Unlimited plan costs $97 a month, which is the exact price of ClickFunnels’ entry plan. So Systeme.io’s ceiling equals ClickFunnels’ floor.
The stack comparison makes the gap wider. Matching Systeme.io’s bundle with ClickFunnels Launch ($97) plus Kit Creator ($33-50), Teachable Basic ($39), and Tapfiliate ($89) costs $258-275 a month before integration. Most people will not build that stack, since 2.0 includes email and courses, but it shows the pricing philosophy each company follows.
One more cost only ClickFunnels charges: pausing your account costs $17 a month (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026). Most competitors pause for free. Systeme.io’s free plan is the pause button.
Winner: Systeme.io, by a wide margin on price alone.
Key Difference #2: ClickFunnels Wins the Checkout Page
The checkout is where ClickFunnels earns the $80. Its 2-step order form captures the buyer’s name and email on step one, before the card fields appear. Abandon at step two and you are already on the follow-up list. Systeme.io has no equivalent partial-lead capture on its order form, which I confirmed when I built a test funnel on the Startup plan for the review.
Order bumps and one-click upsells are native on every ClickFunnels plan. A buyer accepts an upsell with one click and the platform reuses the stored payment method. Systeme.io does support upsells, but the flow is weaker and the order bump options are thinner. Neither platform charges a transaction fee, so the difference is conversion mechanics rather than cost per sale (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026; Systeme.io, verified September 2026).
Does that matter for a first funnel? Not much. It matters the moment you pay for every visitor and a recovered abandoner offsets the ad cost.
Winner: ClickFunnels. Test the ClickFunnels order form on the free trial and compare it to your current checkout before you decide.
Key Difference #3: Systeme.io Wins Email With Unlimited Sends
Systeme.io includes unlimited email sends on every plan, including the free one (Systeme.io, verified September 2026). There is no per-send meter anywhere in the product. A 2,000-contact list on the free plan can receive a daily email at zero cost.
ClickFunnels lists 50,000 included sends a month on Launch, 300,000 on Scale, and 750,000 on Optimize, and bills email at $0.675 per 1,000 sends on top of the plan (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026). ClickFunnels’ own examples put the cost in plain numbers. A 20,000-contact list mailed four times a month is 80,000 sends, or about $54 a month. A 100,000-contact list mailed weekly is about $270 a month.
Run that against Systeme.io. The same 20,000 contacts mailed four times costs $0 in send fees on the $47 Webinar plan or the $97 Unlimited plan. At 100,000 contacts you are on Systeme.io Unlimited at $97 total, versus ClickFunnels Optimize at $297 plus roughly $270 in sends.
The caveat from my review still stands: reports on Systeme.io email deliverability are mixed. Unlimited sends only help if they land. ClickFunnels’ per-send pricing is the more expensive model.
Winner: Systeme.io on cost. Test deliverability on your own list before you trust the savings.
Key Difference #4: ClickFunnels Wins Templates and Design
ClickFunnels has the largest funnel template library in the category. Templates are organized by funnel type (lead magnet, webinar, product launch, tripwire, application) and each one ships with every page in the sequence already wired together. You pick a funnel, not a page.
Systeme.io’s template library is smaller and the designs are plainer. The page builder is less flexible than ClickFunnels 2.0’s, and custom CSS on paid plans requires manual work. When I built the same lead-capture funnel on both for the review, Systeme.io got the funnel live faster, but the ClickFunnels version looked like something I would send cold traffic to.
For a warm audience that already trusts you, a plain Systeme.io page converts fine. For cold paid traffic, the page is the first impression, and the plainer template costs you.
Winner: ClickFunnels.
Key Difference #5: Systeme.io Wins Affiliate Management on Every Plan
Systeme.io includes affiliate program management on all four plans, including free (Systeme.io, verified September 2026). You can recruit affiliates, assign commissions, and pay out from day one at $0.
ClickFunnels reserves its Affiliate Center for the Optimize plan at $297 a month (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026). Launch at $97 and Scale at $197 do not include it. If affiliates are part of your launch plan, ClickFunnels costs $297 before you recruit the first one, or $97 plus a third-party tracker like Tapfiliate at $89.
That is a $280 a month gap on a feature that many course and coaching launches depend on. ClickFunnels’ own program pays partners 30% recurring, so the company clearly values affiliate distribution. It just charges you a lot to run your own.
Winner: Systeme.io, and this one is not close for anyone below $297 a month.
Key Difference #6: ClickFunnels Wins Training and Ecosystem
ClickFunnels comes with the largest funnel-building ecosystem on the market. Group onboarding calls are included on every plan, and Dominate adds a private 3-hour onboarding (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026). Outside the product, Russell Brunson’s books, the challenge programs, the template marketplaces, and the freelancer pool all speak ClickFunnels. Hiring a funnel builder who knows the platform takes a day.
Systeme.io’s ecosystem is smaller. Support is email only, with no live chat, and response averages under two hours seven days a week (Systeme.io, verified September 2026). That is a fair response time, but it is slow if a checkout breaks at 9 pm on launch night. ClickFunnels Scale and above include priority support with live chat.
Winner: ClickFunnels. The training alone is why I keep my own funnels there.
Key Difference #7: Systeme.io Wins on Simplicity
Systeme.io is easier to learn. The dashboard has fewer concepts, the funnel editor has fewer panels, and there is no separate workspace layer to configure. When I tested the free plan for the review, an opt-in funnel with a connected email sequence went live without a tutorial.
ClickFunnels 2.0 has a real learning curve. Workspaces, the workflow editor, global sections, and the CRM each carry their own logic, and the automation builder in particular takes several sessions to feel natural. That complexity is the price of depth. It is still a cost, and it lands hardest on solo founders with no time to learn a second tool.
Simplicity has a ceiling. Systeme.io’s free plan allows 1 automation rule and Startup allows 10 (Systeme.io, verified September 2026). Those caps are the most common complaint from people who try to build multi-sequence funnels on the entry plans. The tool stays simple partly because it does less.
Winner: Systeme.io for the first funnel and for anyone who wants the builder out of the way.
Key Difference #8: ClickFunnels Wins Workflow Depth on Scale and Up
ClickFunnels Scale ($197) and above include webhooks, full API access, a custom code editor, and advanced automation workflows (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026). The workflow editor branches on behavior: page visited, product bought, email opened, tag applied. You can route a buyer who skipped the upsell into a different sequence than the one who took it.
Systeme.io’s automation rules are trigger-and-action pairs. They work, and Unlimited removes the cap on how many you can create (Systeme.io, verified September 2026). But a rule is not a branching workflow, and the native integration list is thin, so anything outside Stripe, PayPal, and a handful of payment processors runs through Zapier.
At the top of both ladders the difference is clear. Systeme.io Unlimited at $97 gives you unlimited simple rules. ClickFunnels Scale at $197 gives you fewer contacts (75,000 versus unlimited) but a workflow engine that can run a real behavioral funnel without a third tool.
Winner: ClickFunnels, with the honest caveat that the win only shows up at $197 a month.

| Trial | Free forever, no card | Free plan first | Free plan first | Free plan first, free migration | 14 days, no card | 14 days, no card | 14 days, no card |
Two things stand out. Systeme.io’s $97 Unlimited plan and ClickFunnels’ $97 Launch plan cost the same, and the Systeme.io plan gives you unlimited contacts against 10,000. And ClickFunnels’ annual discount saves 16-17%, which brings Launch to $81 a month, still $64 above Systeme.io Startup on the same billing cycle. ClickFunnels’ annual-only Dominate tier ($499 a month) is left out because nobody choosing between these two tools shops at that level.
What I Found When I Tested Both
I run my own funnels on ClickFunnels, so my daily experience is on the more expensive side of this page. For the Systeme.io review I signed up for the free plan, built a lead-capture funnel with a connected email sequence, then looked at the Startup plan’s limits and the affiliate module.
Three things surprised me. The Systeme.io free plan is a real product: 3 working funnels, a custom domain, and unlimited emails with no card. Systeme.io also got a basic funnel live faster than ClickFunnels 2.0, because there was less to configure. And the finished ClickFunnels page looked better without me touching the design, which is the template library doing its job.
What I did not find was anything on Systeme.io that matched the ClickFunnels 2-step order form. That single feature is the reason my paid-traffic funnels stay where they are. When every visitor costs money, capturing the email before the card fields is worth more than the $80 difference.
I did not run identical paid traffic to both and measure conversion rates, so I will not quote a head-to-head number. Anyone who does should show you the test.
If you want to see the checkout for yourself, open a ClickFunnels trial and build one order form. The difference is obvious within ten minutes.
Migration: Systeme.io Pays Your Way In, ClickFunnels Doesn’t
Moving from ClickFunnels to Systeme.io is the cheaper direction, because Systeme.io Unlimited includes a free migration service and a 1-on-1 kickstart session (Systeme.io, verified September 2026). That plan costs $97 a month, the same as ClickFunnels Launch, so a downgrade in price does not always mean a downgrade in plan.
Moving from Systeme.io to ClickFunnels is a do-it-yourself job. ClickFunnels offers no free migration service. What you get is the template library to rebuild your pages and CSV import for your contacts. Funnels do not transfer as files, so plan to rebuild each page from a template and paste your copy in. Email sequences also need to be recreated.
That asymmetry favors starting on Systeme.io. A three-funnel business built on the free plan is a weekend to rebuild in ClickFunnels. A twenty-funnel business is a project.
Verdict: ClickFunnels for Paid Traffic, Systeme.io for Everything Before That
ClickFunnels wins this comparison for anyone spending money on traffic to an offer that already converts. The 2-step order form, native order bumps and one-click upsells, the template library, and the training ecosystem are the four features that turn ad spend into margin, and Systeme.io does not match any of them.
The exception is large. If your offer is unproven, if your list is small, if you send a lot of email, or if you need affiliates on a $0 or $17 budget, Systeme.io wins four of the eight differences on this page and the price gap makes the other four irrelevant for now. Build there first, prove the offer, and move when the numbers justify $97.

FAQ: ClickFunnels vs Systeme.io Questions
Is Systeme.io better than ClickFunnels?
Systeme.io is better for a first funnel on a budget. It costs $17 a month against $97, includes unlimited emails, and bundles affiliate management on every plan. ClickFunnels is better for paid traffic to a validated offer because of its 2-step order form, one-click upsells, and template library (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026; Systeme.io, verified September 2026).
Is Systeme.io really free?
Yes. The free plan includes 3 funnels, 2,000 contacts, 1 course, 1 custom domain, and unlimited email sends with no credit card and no time limit (Systeme.io, verified September 2026). The caps are 1 automation rule and a smaller template library. When I tested it for the review, the free plan ran a working opt-in funnel with a connected email sequence.
Which is cheaper over a year at 5,000 contacts?
Systeme.io Startup covers 5,000 contacts for $204 a year on monthly billing or $170 on annual. ClickFunnels Launch covers 10,000 contacts for $1,164 monthly or $972 annual. Four emails a month to 5,000 contacts is 20,000 sends, about $13.50 a month in ClickFunnels send fees at $0.675 per 1,000. Systeme.io saves at least $802 to $960 a year on the plan price alone (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026; Systeme.io, verified September 2026).
Which is better for courses?
Systeme.io gives you more courses per dollar: 1 on Free, 5 on Startup, 20 on Webinar, unlimited on Unlimited. ClickFunnels Launch includes 3 courses and Scale includes 6 (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026; Systeme.io, verified September 2026). Neither is a dedicated LMS. If course delivery is the business, my Kajabi vs ClickFunnels comparison covers a platform built for it.
Which is better for paid ads?
ClickFunnels. Its 2-step order form captures the email before the card fields, so abandoned buyers land on your follow-up list. Order bumps and one-click upsells are native on every plan, and the template library is built for cold traffic. Systeme.io has no partial-lead capture on its order form and a weaker upsell flow (ClickFunnels, verified September 2026). Start the ClickFunnels trial to test the order form yourself.
Can you switch from Systeme.io to ClickFunnels later?
Yes, but you rebuild the pages. ClickFunnels has no migration service. You import contacts by CSV and rebuild each funnel from a template. Going the other direction is easier: Systeme.io Unlimited at $97 a month includes free migration and a 1-on-1 kickstart session (Systeme.io, verified September 2026). Decide early, while the rebuild is small.
